Shipping Solutions is seeking a structured and collaborative Operations Coordinator to join our Central Operations team in Aarhus, Denmark. 

 

Working in the Central Operations Team at Shipping Solutions

As an Operations Coordinator, you are part of a central function of our business, overseeing all operations in Northern Europe. You join a dedicated team of five, managing approximately 40 vessels and 150 weekly port calls. The team provides a dynamic and international working environment with a fast operational tempo and a strong team spirit. 

In this position, you coordinate port and terminal calls for the Northern European fleet to achieve a stable network, supporting our commercial interests and ensuring maximum revenue. You conduct berth planning and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize network performance and adapt to weather challenges.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Aarhus, Denmark. We are seeking candidates already residing in Denmark.  

You report to Joce Fauteux, Operations Manager, NEU.

Key responsibilities 

  • Maintain the integrity of the Northern Europe network, ensuring stable, timely, and cost-efficient operations 
  • Berth planning in the Benelux region and the UK 
  • Serve as regional coordinator for activities across Benelux, Germany, and the UK. 
  • Optimize bunker utilization and minimize idle time, lay-bys, and tug utilization 
  • Collaborate daily with capacity, stowage, and various additional stakeholders to align on operational planning and priorities 


Who are you?

You are a real team player with a proactive attitude, aiming for continuous improvement. You can effectively share responsibilities and cooperate with the team and organization across different countries and cultures.  

Furthermore, we expect you to: 

  • Hold a relevant education  
  • Have experience from the maritime industry or another relevant sector (shipping, logistics, and transportation) 
  • Have good communication skills and experience with handling conflicts and maintaining relationships 
  • Have full professional proficiency in English (proficiency in Danish is preferred but not required) 
  • Be able to prioritize and multitask to ensure efficient operations 

What you’ll gain 

In this role, you make the schedule go up, considering the desires from the capacity team and the offers from the terminals. You gain a deep understanding of network coordination and port operations across Northern Europe. 

Over time, you gain a high degree of influence on key decisions regarding port omissions. Furthermore, you are involved in discussions concerning prioritization of cargo.
