Shipping Solutions is seeking a proactive and pragmatic IT Business Partner for Finance to join our Business IT team in Aarhus, Denmark.

 

Working in the Business IT team at Shipping Solutions

As an IT Business Partner for Finance, your purpose is to build a partnership with your business area, where you understand their ways of working and identify potential improvement areas. In general, you ensure that our Finance area is digitally enabled to deliver its goals.

In this position, you are the point of contact from the Finance team to IT. You give and receive feedback transparently, fostering trust even during difficult moments. You manage tensions effectively by listening and engaging the right people to resolve issues promptly. You invest time in understanding issues in collaboration with Finance and actively challenge priorities to ensure aligned, priority‑based decisions.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Aarhus, Denmark. We are seeking candidates already residing in Denmark. No travel is required.

You report to Nikolaj Spande Valentin, Business IT Director, Europe & Americas.

 

What you will gain

In this role, you have broad decision‑making autonomy, provided the Finance function feels well supported by IT. Ensuring Finance systems are stable and operational is essential and enables you to explore the business area and identify opportunities for digital enablement.

You take part in bi-weekly meetings with the Business IT team, gaining influence on decisions regarding task prioritization for the IT Developer team. This requires and strengthens your understanding of potential value of own user stories while considering the greater picture.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Stay closely connected to the business to understand its operations and priorities. This means engaging in structured meetings with key stakeholders as well as informal conversations that strengthen relationships
  • Investigate issues and define business problems, translating them into actionable IT specifications
  • Collaborate with IT developers to identify the best possible solution and verify that it covers and solves the business problems
  • Coordinate implementation and change management activities
  • Review solution ideas with the business to ensure buy-in and stay on top of new technology that can support your business area further

Who are you?

You are eager to learn and have a curious mindset. You value honesty, can receive feedback, and are interested in stakeholder engagement. You have a flair for technology and a background in Finance, Business Intelligence, and/or IT.

Furthermore, we expect you to have:

  • 2-3 years' work experience with excellent skills in Navision or similar financial systems
  • Experience with stakeholders and change management
  • Knowledge of project management solutions (Jira, Trello, Monday, ClickUp, etc.)
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis
  • An interest in process optimization and innovative IT solutions
  • Full professional proficiency in English (proficiency in Danish is preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of SQL (preferred but not required)
