Unifeeder A/S is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Business Development to join our Commercial Leadership Team.

 

Working for Europe’s leading Feeder and Shortsea Operator  

As Head of Business Development, you will be instrumental in driving both organic growth and inorganic expansion through mergers and acquisitions.

You will lead a high-impact team of experts and work in close collaboration with local stakeholders, Unifeeder colleagues in overseas offices, as well as experts at our parent company, DP World, to drive strategic growth.

You will report to Søren Castbak, Chief Commercial Officer.

The preferred job location is at our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, but for the right candidate, a hybrid work model can be agreed upon. We are seeking candidates who are already based in Denmark, and proficiency in English is essential.

Travel will occur, as the focus will be on building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key areas of responsibilities

  • Business Development

    • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnerships in existing and new geographies, with emphasis on Latin America, Africa and the Mediterranean
    • Lead strategy development for business growth and customer engagement, maintaining a strong cross-geographical customer focus
    • Develop compelling value propositions in existing and new markets, including innovative approaches and solutions such as Network Selling for global long-haul shipping companies

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Lead and develop a dedicated team of business development professionals
    • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across international locations
    • Ensure effective change management and stakeholder alignment in all growth initiatives

    Mergers & Acquisitions

    • Conduct strategic target screening and market intelligence
    • Manage the M&A pipeline from opportunity identification through execution
    • Supported by DP World M&A expertise oversee commercial due diligence in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
    • Drive value creation and synergy realization across acquired entities
    • Engage and collaborate with M&A experts at the DP World HQ

      

Who are you?

You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, demonstrating a proven track record in business development within container shipping.

You are a structured and commercially driven professional with the ability to achieve results in close collaboration with key stakeholders across different geographies and functions, ensuring alignment and execution of strategic initiatives on an international scale.

Furthermore, we expect you to have: 

  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills across diverse international markets
  • Demonstrated experience in M&A and delivering measurable synergies
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Analytical mindset with excellent communication skills
