Working in the AI Team at Shipping Solutions

As a Student Assistant – AI, you will help design, develop, implement, and maintain AI solutions that support Shipping Solutions’ AI journey. You will work closely with our AI Lead to explore new technologies, build proof of concepts, and support the development of intelligent tools such as Shipmate and other AI agents that enhance operational efficiency across our business.

You will gain valuable experience in an environment where your ideas become reality – with the freedom to experiment and the guidance of experienced digital professionals.

This is an onsite role at our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, with the possibility to work from home in alignment with your manager. Working hours are flexible to fit your study schedule, and we are looking for candidates already based in Aarhus.

Key responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain Shipping Solutions’ AI solutions, including Shipmate and related systems
• Build proofs of concept for smaller AI applications, for example to automate manual tasks
• Explore and evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies, for example within AI Playground
• Applying data science and AI technologies to enhance intelligent decision-making
• Collaborate closely with the AI Lead to strengthen Shipping Solutions’ overall AI capabilities

Who are you?

You are a student in the final year of your bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a relevant master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Cand.Merc.BI, or a similar analytical field.

You have a genuine interest in applied AI, automation, and generative AI tools (for example, OpenAI, LangChain, or similar frameworks).

Additionally, you have a desire to learn continuously and stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and methodologies.

Furthermore, we expect you to:

• Have experience with Python (or R) or other programming languages
• Have foundational understanding of machine learning and data analysis, including data cleaning, model training, and evaluation
• Be structured, curious, and self-driven – you can balance exploration with practical implementation
• Be proactive and creative in finding simple, transparent solutions to complex problems
• Be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
