Shipping Solutions is seeking a proactive and structured Student Assistant to join our People team in Aarhus. This role offers the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues who support your learning and provide insight into our HR processes.

Working in the People Team at Shipping Solutions

As a People Student Assistant, you assist with a wide range of HR tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient HR operation.

You are part of a People team that works across countries to support Shipping Solutions’ HR functions. We pride ourselves on being an international team with team members in 3 different locations that values sparring, trust, and a positive work environment. You work closely with our People Specialist, People Business Partners, People Generalist, Talent Acquisition team, Payroll team, and other functions within our organization as well as external stakeholders. You report to Lykke Saksager Svare, our Chief People Officer.

This is an onsite role at our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, with the possibility to work from home in alignment with your manager. Approx. 15-20 working hours per week and we are flexible to fit your study schedule, and we are looking for candidates already based in Aarhus.

Key responsibilities 

• Supporting the maintenance of Oracle, our HR platform, including creating and updating employee records
• Assisting the Performance Process
• Supporting the administration of OneLearn, our learning and development platform
• Supporting People workshops and events
• A1 Applications for Denmark
• Updating organizational charts, the employee handbook, People policies, and our People site on SharePoint
• Assisting with various administrative tasks including document management, salary/bonus/performance related documentation, maintaining GDPR-compliant shared drives, issuing work letters for Panama, handling screen glasses procedure in Denmark, and PowerPoint presentations

Who are you?

You are a proactive, independent, detail-oriented, and structured student who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn. Your field of study is not the most important factor – what truly matters is your mindset, problem-solving skills, and willingness to take initiative.

Furthermore, we expect you to:

• Be enrolled in higher education on bachelor level
• Have a natural interest in HR, people, and process optimization
• Be comfortable with Excel, PowerPoint, and handling data-driven tasks
• Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Be a clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with different stakeholders
• Be collaborative and team-oriented
• Be fluent in English (both verbal and written). Proficiency in Danish is a plus but not required
