Shipping Solutions is looking for a Marine Operator to be part of our team of 16 in Gdynia, Poland.
Working in the Central Duty Function at Shipping Solutions
As a Marine Operator, reporting to the Central Duty Function Manager, you will handle marine-related tasks across Shipping Solutions’s operational areas. From helping ensure vessels stay on schedule to coordinating with terminals and updating internal systems, your role is essential to maintaining efficient operations.
You will be part of the Central Duty Function (CDF) department, which operates 24/7. This means your work will include day, afternoon, and night shifts. The duty cycle lasts seven weeks and includes both Marine and Operations duties.
This position is based in our office in Gdynia, Poland. Some travel is expected (approx. 5-10 days annually). We are seeking candidates who are already based in the Tricity area.

Key responsibilities
During your watch duty, you will work in one of two fields: Marine or Operations.
Marine:
- Ensure accurate and timely information is received from all terminals
- Monitor vessel movements and liaise with vessels to support timely operations
- Order pilots, tugs, linesmen, layby berths, and locks as needed
- Coordinate with terminals on berth planning
- Handle ISPS requests for ship visitors
- Manage Slotcharter vessel schedules in internal IT systems
- Maintain communication with external agents
Operations:
- Communicate discharge and load information to terminals
- Ensure terminals have the necessary information to operate effectively
- Update stowage plans and provide support as needed
- Process terminal updates to ensure accurate cargo planning
- Handle cargo-related queries from stakeholders and terminals
Who are you?
You may have maritime, shipping, or terminal experience, but this is not required, as we welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and competencies. Previous experience such as Port Agent, Freight Forwarder, Cargo Coordinator, Terminal Planner, etc. will be considered as an advantage.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two shifts are the same, and you bring a structured approach while remaining calm in new or changing situations.
You have a logical and methodical mindset and take pride in finding solutions.
Additionally, you bring:
- A positive mindset and team player attitude, with constructive communication skills
- An independent work ethic and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- The ability to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Polish language skills will be considered an advantage but is not required
