Working in the Financial Controlling Team at Shipping Solutions EAM 

As a Financial Controller, you manage and oversee financial operations to ensure the organization's financial health and stability by providing accurate financial information, optimizing processes, and managing risks.

You join a team of six colleagues (incl. the Financial Controlling Manager) of diverse ages and backgrounds, all committed to fostering a supportive team spirit, open collaboration, and constructive challenges.

This position is based at our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, which will relocate to our new state-of-the-art facility, Irmahus, in Aarhus Ø in early 2027. We are seeking candidates who are already based in Denmark.

You report to Betina Madsen, Financial Controlling Manager.

Key responsibilities 

• Financial reporting and analysis: Ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting (monthly, yearly). Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management. Ensure financial figures accurately reflect operational performance.
• Compliance & internal controls: Maintain and develop internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. This includes overseeing general accounting, validation, and reporting processes. Conduct risk assessments and build controls to mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant regulations.

• Process optimization: Optimize financial processes, including ERP and reporting systems, to improve efficiency and accuracy. Focus on standardizing and optimizing finance processes across different countries and Business Units.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as accounting and finance business partnering teams, to ensure financial data aligns with business needs and supports performance discussions. Engage in ongoing dialogue with counterparts in DP World to ensure Shipping Solutions adheres to the governance and policies prescribed by our parent company.

Who are you?

You hold a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (cand.merc. in Danish) or a similar degree, with 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in an international organization.

Additionally, we expect you to have:

• Experience with IFRS and local GAAP
• In-depth understanding of accounting
• Knowledge of standardizing, optimizing, and automating processes

You also bring:

• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with a curious and proactive mindset
• A service-oriented mindset, with a strong team spirit and a willingness to step beyond your own area of responsibility when needed
• A self-driven, flexible attitude, with the ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Danish is not required
