Shipping Solutions is looking for a Controlling Manager to lead our team of 5-6 controllers in Aarhus, Denmark. This role is ideal for a senior finance profile who wants to combine people leadership with hands-on controlling responsibility in an international business environment.

Working in the Controlling Team at Shipping Solutions

As Controlling Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient controlling processes. You will lead the team, support business decisions through clear financial insights, and help ensure compliance with IFRS, governance standards, and company policies.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Accounting, Finance Business Partnering, Financial Transformation, and Operations, as well as relevant counterparts across DP World.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Aarhus N, Denmark, relocating to Irmahus, Aarhus Ø, in April 2027. Very limited travel is expected in this role. We are seeking candidates already residing in Denmark.

Key responsibilities 

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting
• Analyze financial performance and explain key deviations versus budget and prior periods
• Maintain and improve internal controls and compliance with financial policies and standards
• Drive standardization and optimization of controlling processes, reporting, and systems
• Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders to support business performance
• Lead, coordinate, and develop the Controlling team, including planning, task ownership, and follow-up

Who are you?

You have 5–10 years of experience in accounting and/or controlling and 3–5 years of leadership experience, ideally from an international company. You combine strong financial and accounting knowledge with a practical and collaborative way of working.

We are looking for a profile with leadership potential and a player-coach mindset – someone who wants to lead a team while remaining involved in the controlling work. You are analytical, hands-on, flexible, and able to create structure in a dynamic environment.

Furthermore, we expect you to have:

• A relevant master’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar, preferably cand.merc.aud.
• A strong accounting foundation, ideally with an audit background
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
• Experience with financial controls, reporting, and process improvement
• A proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative mindset
• Professional proficiency in English
