IT BUSINESS PARTNER, SHORTSEA
The position as IT Business Partner, Shortsea is part of the business-facing IT, bridging the IT team and the Shortsea organization across all applications and projects. You will enter a new position as part of the significant development in the IT department, with the primary objective of supporting the growth and acquisition journey in Unifeeder. This is reflected by the need for optimizing and enhancing digitalization at many levels in the Shortsea business unit.
Your most important focus is to provide vital support to the continuing business development in Unifeeder since both the management in Unifeeder and “internal customers” focus strongly on the IT area as a competitive edge. It is expected that the majority of your time will be used in Shortsea assignments and the rest in similar projects in collaboration with the IT team.
Area of responsibility
You will have the responsibility of creating an overview, collection knowledge and structuring the gabs and IT needs in the Shortsea organization. You will use this insight to define solutions to optimize the use of applications, data and digitalization in collaboration with all stakeholders. Your focus is to ensure that Unifeeders IT setup meets the business requirements in terms of functionality, accessibility and performance. The role is intended to move in the intersection between applications, domain and business, ensuring the best possible alignment between them.
As IT Business Partner your most important job is to facilitate a newly implemented product management structure between IT and Shortsea. You will be responsible for the process from ideas and problems that arise over potential IT development to the implementation and adoption in the Shortsea business unit.
In the first phase, together with the Business Owner, you analyze and understand the potential business value and whether it supports the roadmap and overall strategic direction. In the next step, you facilitate grooming of the user stories, where the IT team and external partners convert the user stories to solution design, which can be prioritized by the Business Owner.
In the next part of the process, your focus on internal alignment in IT as the team and external partners build the solution, making sure we foresee and mitigate potential roadblocks as well as involving stakeholders at all levels. Last part is to ensure technically delivered user stories are implemented and adopted by the business unit in order to harvest the intended business value.
The successful Profile
You probably have a master’s degree within IT, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management or similar and you have already built up a few years of experience in a relevant role within business-oriented IT. It will be a great support if you have worked within the logistics domain – either from the business side or from the IT side.
You must have technical insight and understanding without being the tech wizard, and you strive as much in handling stakeholders and defining the needs of tomorrow as involving in the technical dialogue. The most important starting point is your positive experience and attitude to think and act with some technical understanding while maintaining focus on why the systems have been created, which tasks they shall solve for the business, and how they can be optimized. This means that you are also highly driven in your effort to ensure things are completed rather than getting caught up in small details.
