Emission Compliance Specialist
Aarhus, Denmark
Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a tangible impact on emission reductions? Do you excel at working with numbers and enjoy building and streamlining processes? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Embark on an exciting journey with us
Unifeeder is an international shipping company, delivering sustainable and efficient transport solutions to our customers every day. As a company at the forefront of decarbonizing the maritime industry, we are looking for a new colleague to join our team in a newly created role.
As an Emission Compliance Specialist, you will be working from Unifeeder’s headquarters in Aarhus. You’ll be part of a dynamic workplace with a flat organizational structure, with more than 300 amazing colleagues across locations. We are deeply passionate about our work and value professional discussions and sparring to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
In Unifeeder, we have a continuous focus on supporting our employees' development. You will become part of an organization where good ideas quickly become reality, and where you will have the opportunity to influence the emission compliance area as well as good, dedicated colleagues who support you.
How you will be making a difference
As an Emission Compliance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring the CO2 emissions of our fleet. Your primary responsibilities will include establishing and optimizing processes while working with data. You will collaborate across multiple functions to ensure compliance with EU emissions regulations and achieve our decarbonization goals.
Your most important tasks include:
- Process Optimization & Compliance: Build and streamline the processes to comply with European emission regulations (Fuel EU Maritime/EU Emissions Trading System).
- Data Analysis: Analyze and report emissions data, ensuring transparency and accuracy of CO2 compliance balances.
- Fuel Documentation: Secure and manage fuel documentation, review monthly compliance reports, and derive recommendations for action to comply with regulations.
- Decarbonization Focus: Coordination between teams (e.g. finance, sales, fuel supply) to utilize CO2 reductions and contribute to our decarbonization efforts.
- Budgeting and Reconciliation: Budgeting and reconciliation of Fuel EU Maritime, and collaborating with other teams on pricing.
Who are you?
We imagine that you have experience within finance/accounting, or recently finished education in a related area. You like working with numbers and systems and thrive on streamlining and creating structure.
- Process Builder: Someone who can establish and optimize processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance. You take ownership of your tasks and can collaborate to collect input from multiple stakeholders.
- Number Enthusiast: A passion for working with numbers and strong analytical skills are more important than a deep understanding of carbon legislation and emissions compliance.
- Sustainability Advocate: A keen interest in sustainability and a commitment to reducing emissions.
- Excel Expert: Strong ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and utilize advanced formulas and functions.
- English Proficiency: Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Danish is not a requirement.
Why join us?
- Impactful Work: Contribute to meaningful decarbonization efforts and help shape a sustainable future.
- Collaborative & International Environment: Work with a dedicated team that values guidance, support, and collaboration across geographies.
- Growth Opportunities: Develop your skills in a dynamic and evolving field with ample opportunities for professional growth.
