About the Education

Kick-start your career with Unifeeder

Approximately 90% of global trade relies on maritime transport. Our traineeship is designed to prepare you for a career within shipping and Unifeeder and give you the world as a place of work.
Unifeeder invites you to embark on a unique journey in the shipping industry through our traineeship program. In only  2.5 years, with the option to cut it down to 2 years, you will gain valuable skills and hands-on experience across various departments.

Example of a traineeship

During your 2,5 years as a trainee, you will work in our Hamburg office and rotate between 3 different departments to ensure that you get full insight into how we run our business. You will also get the chance to visit other Unifeeder offices and get insights to different departments and knowledge from experts. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network with other trainees in the industry as well as professionals.

You are ambitious and eager to push the limits of logistics. You are willing to learn, contribute and apply knowledge.

Furthermore, you:

  • You are as fascinated by the world of container shipping and international trade as we are?
  • Demonstrate initiative and independence? You get extra credit if you already have any experience
  • Are a true team player who enjoys tackling challenges together with other colleagues
  • are fluent in English,  and any additional language is a bonus
  • Ideally have your A-Level (Abitur), but driven & motivated school leavers are also welcome to apply

When can I apply?

  • You can apply at any time of the year.
    We are looking for trainees on a continuous basis.
    ETD (Expected Time of Departure) is 1st August or 1st February.

    You are being given a chance to find out in a three-month internship prior to your traineeship whether container shipping meets your expectations.

What should I attach with my application?

  • Your application should contain your CV, cover letter and additional information that is relevant with regards to your previous experience (reference letters). 
    Only candidates providing complete information required will be considered.

What languages are required?

  • Fluency in German and English is required.

    Any other language is advantageous. 

What is the salary level?

  • We comply with the collective bargaining agreement of the German Transport Industry. 

Where will the rotations be?

  • You will work in our Hamburg office where you will rotate between the departments “Customer Service Feeder”, “Port Operations” & “Landside Transport”. 
    You will also rotate through other Unifeeder locations.
