SALES MANAGER

Hamburg (F/M)

As a self-driven, dynamic and highly motivated Sales Manager, who wants to demonstrate his ability to grow business by managing challenging sales cycles as a team player in a highly professional environment, your primary responsibility is to persuade the Business Cargo Owners and forwarding customers to convert their cargo mode from road to sea in order to secure a higher level of performance for their transports in terms of quality, capacity and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify potential new customers based on a strategic analysis of the market
  • Find and approach the right decision makers at these companies to order to set up the first meeting
  • Generate and follow up on sales leads, reach out to customers leads through cold calling
  • Meet target customers personally, create trust and convince them of their benefits of using our client’s service portfolio advantageous
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Coordinate sales efforts with the team and cooperate closely with other departments throughout Europe (sales, key account management, tender management, operations, and customer service)
  • Communicate precisely and clearly, in- and externally

    Hard Skills

  • Profound knowledge of /education in Shipping, Forwarding or Logistics services (or related)
  • Experience in Short Sea Shipping, land or intermodal transportation is beneficial
  • Good understanding of logistics and forwarding products, intermodal solutions, pricing terminology and competitive landscape in the European market
  • Minimum 5 years of successful work experience in outside sales and/or business development with a focus on new customer acquisition
  • Ability to analyze data, market’s potential, sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
  • Well-versed in using common MS Office applications, incl. experience with CRM software, IT presentation skills
  • Creativity in idea generating and problem-solving
  • Extravertive, enthusiastic and persuasive selling style
