Operations Specialist

Are you our new colleague in the Operations department at our regional office in Copenhagen, covering operations in the ports of Denmark, Norway and Sweden?

The job

The operations department’s main responsibility is to secure an optimised and cost-efficient day-to-day execution of our container vessels calling the Scandinavian ports. We perform a hands-on execution, built on positive and close relationships with our suppliers, authorities, and terminals. You will work closely with our operations team in Aarhus (HQ) as well as give support to our customer service team coordinating the cargo flows. Furthermore, the department ensures consistent, timely and correct communication with external stakeholders – ports/terminals and other suppliers.


  • have a diploma within shipping, or you have worked with vessel operation (preferably containers) in other contexts.
  • are able to optimise day-to-day execution of vessel operation, always on top of daily operation knowing to get the highest productivity, least possible idle time and lowest possible overall costs.
  • are not afraid of actively suggesting improvements to both processes and product with the aim of increasing efficiency, competitiveness and profitability.
  • can facilitate and execute on continuous improvement actions, both internally and externally in close cooperation with colleagues and vendors.
  • are not afraid to argue your case in order to improve the status quo.
  • have a flair for IT and IT-based tools.
  • speak and write English fluently. Basic knowledge of Danish/Norwegian/Swedish is an advantage but not a must.
  • have an understanding of the importance of constructive communication in your daily work.
  • can participate in duty function and are prepared to travel 10-20 days yearly.
