St Petersburg – Moby Dik/Litke Bay terminal
Print

Unifeeder A/S have lately kept our customers informed of the deteriorating operational situation at the Moby Dik/Litke Bay terminal in St Petersburg. The terminal owners have now informed us that they see themselves forced to take unilateral steps in terms of reducing the pressure on the terminal – at least for a period of time.

Furthermore, under the prevailing working conditions at the terminal Unifeeder cannot remain offering our clients the service-integrity which we believe is needed. The constant, significant but not predictable delays to all Moby Dik operations over the last many weeks have made both you and us suffer to an unacceptable extent – at the same time the malfunctions at the Moby Dik terminal have harmed other parts of our St Petersburg traffic and the overall capacity utilisation.

We have also been informed that the land and gate side operations of the Moby Dik terminal have fallen short of normal standards, causing serious delays to the customs handling and the final delivery of your cargo.

The Moby Dik management has also informed us of further unilateral steps to be taken in terms of working conditions and contracts, which will further add to the above.

Therefore, Unifeeder – very much to our regret – have to temporarily cease calling the Moby Dik terminal. Last sailing with cargo already booked will be performed from Hamburg and Rotterdam during the coming week.

Unfortunately, we are forced to take this step also not to risk imposing such consequences on the rest of our St Petersburg services that our recently circulated efforts already would have to be reconsidered.

It has naturally been a very difficult decision to reach – we obviously hope that we will be able to resume the service at some stage in the not too distant future. On the other hand, we are also sure that we will now be able to concentrate on strengthening and safeguarding our services to/from the other St Petersburg terminals, leading to mutual benefits for all of us.

Unifeeder are keeping a constant eye on the terminal developments in St Petersburg and shall spare no efforts in securing other options as soon as these appear.
