Unfortunately, the Norwegian Government has implemented a NOX (Nitrogen oxides) duty for various industries as from 01.01.07. The duty on NOX emission includes vessels serving Norwegian ports.
The NOX duty was implemented at short notice and together with the Norwegian authorities we have made various investigations in order to understand the content, calculation rules and impact on our services correctly.
The fact is that in our Norwegian traffics the NOX duty cannot be avoided and we are forced to ask our customers of the Unifeeder Shortsea Service Door-to-Door division for compensation by charging a NOX surcharge of:
EUR 10 per container
Valid as from 14.03.2007 (B/L date)
We regret the national duty introduced by the Norwegian Government.
