Ice and weather conditions in the Baltic
Print

Due to the extreme weather conditions we are facing this winter with very low temperatures and heavy ice our operational problems at sea as well as in ports have increased. This is particularly pertinent in St. Petersburg and a number of Finnish ports.
The ice has caused a need for icebreaker assistance as well as congestions at terminals, unfortunately causing unforeseen changes and delays in schedules.
In spite of Unifeeder taking all operational measures in order to maintain schedule and secure weekly capacity, the heavy weather conditions have a negative impact on our operation. Consequently, our operational costs have increased.
Unifeeder is working hard to ensure that we overcome these weather related obstacles in the best possible manner, but the situation is only expected to get worse during the coming months.
We will bring updates on the situation in St. Petersburg and the Finnish ports as soon as new developments arise.
